ADULT PROGRAMS - WINTER
2018 HRRA WINTER TRAINING PROGRAMS
The HRRA Winter Training programs prepare Juniors and Masters for spring and summer competition, and improves athleticism and rowing potential for non-competitive adults and those returning to rowing after a break in training.
Winter is the time when athletes build a foundation of strength and power - the HRRA Winter Training programs provide individualized sport specific training plans to develop that foundation in preparation for erg racing, spring scholastic and summer club seasons.
In the past our participants have set regatta records at the HRRA Indoor Sprints and finished in the top 20 at CRASHB's - if you are serious about increasing your visibility on your spring or summer teams or laying the groundwork for collegiate rowing recruitment, the HRRA Winter Training Plan and its' staff of regional coaches will help you achieve your goals.
The HRRA Winter program provides:
- Personalized training plans designed to prepare athletes for the rigor of sprint racing and achieving 2k PR's
- Circuit based weight training
- Weekly technique sessions in the HRRA Boathouse tanks
- Development of personalized 2k goals and the physical and mental strategies to achieve them.
This program is open to all HRRA adult athletes. We have added an additional day of erging, making this a 3 day training program for adults. The adult program is mainly an erging program, however, depending on participant interest we will schedule weight training and tank sessions.
