2018 HRRA WINTER TRAINING PROGRAMS
The HRRA Winter Training programs prepare Juniors and Masters for spring and summer competition, and improves athleticism and rowing potential for non-competitive adults and those returning to rowing after a break in training.
Winter is the time when athletes build a foundation of strength and power - the HRRA Winter Training programs provide individualized sport specific training plans to develop that foundation in preparation for erg racing, spring scholastic and summer club seasons.
In the past our participants have set regatta records at the HRRA Indoor Sprints and finished in the top 20 at CRASHB's - if you are serious about increasing your visibility on your spring or summer teams or laying the groundwork for collegiate rowing recruitment, the HRRA Winter Training Plan and its' staff of regional coaches will help you achieve your goals.
The HRRA Winter program provides:
JUNIOR WINTER TRAINING
This program is open to all regional junior athletes who have completed one season of rowing at their High School, through HRRA or other rowing clubs.
We have split this program into 2 sessions to accommodate athletes whose scholastic programs begin in late winter.
Session 1 provides two weeknight time shifts.
Session 2 provides one weeknight time shift. Please register for session 1 and 2 if you plan to train with HRRA through the HRRA Indoor Sprints or the beginning of your scholastic season in early March.
FEE: $90 (4 days per week)

Session 1
Shift 1 - REGISTER
M/W/F ~ 4 to 6:15pm
Sat ~ 10am to 1pm
Shift 2 - REGISTER
M/W/F~ 6 to 8:15pm-
Sat ~ 10am to 1pm
Session 2
FEE: $35 (4 days per week)
Program Dates: February 26 to March 16
M/W/F ~ 5:30 to 7:45pm
Sat ~ 10am to 12pm

Sundays may be used to make up missed days due to weather closures for our winter teams.
Registration will be completed through regatta central this year. Payment by credit card or check is available - please pay by the first day of practice to keep your slot. A late fee of $10 will be added if payment is not received by the end of the first practice.
Juniors please register early for the shift you want - there are 40 slots available for each shift. Athletes must attend the shift for which they registered - we cannot accommodate movement between the shifts.
All athletes must have a Basic USRowing Membership ($9.75) and online waiver completed. If you have already paid the membership under a different club name you must log in to the USRowing portal and add Hudson River Rowing Association to your club affiliations by the first day of practice.

- Personalized training plans designed to prepare athletes for the rigor of sprint racing and achieving 2k PR's
- Circuit based weight training
- Weekly technique sessions in the HRRA Boathouse tanks
- Development of personalized 2k goals and the physical and mental strategies to achieve them.
