HRRA Boathouse Tenants
The Hudson River Rowing Association owns and operates the seven bay HRRA Boathouse in Poughkeepsie, NY where all of the Dutchess County adult and scholastic rowing teams operate out of.
The HRRA Boathouse is a communal facility and tenants, as well as HRRA programs, lease space for their boats and support equipment. In addition, all teams using the facility pay seasonal user fees. All proceeds from this income are used towards the financing and operation of the boathouse. We do not currently have an endowment to help subsidize this effort.
The HRRA Boathouse is almost full ~ the majority of our rack space, 77 racks, is reserved for eights and fours, though we have 48 racks for singles and doubles in two of our Bays. HRRA leases a portion of these racks to scullers for the storage of privately owned shells and to clubs who offer sculling as well.
The teams that operate out of our boathouse are:
PARKING
Spots marked "Coach" are reserved for coaches of the teams authorized to use the boathouse during each specific season - all athletes, including scullers, visitors and parents are asked to park in the gravel lot to the south of the boathouse.
Drop off and Pick up of athletes should be done at the south end of the boathouse as well - please do not drop off in the driveway behind the boathouse or sit in coach spots to wait.
NO PARKING - along the road, in front of the Vassar boathouses or on any grassy areas north or South of the HRRA Boathouse.
REGATTA PARKING
The property used for parking and tents at regattas is not owned or leased by HRRA and we receive special permission to use this property for these activities. HRRA charges $5 a day or $15 for a season pass to park in this area for regattas. All visitors and athletes are subject to this parking fee. The boathouse parking lots are reserved for Coach and handicap parking during regattas.
These funds cover the expenses we incur when a tenant team hosts a regatta at the boathouse and is our only Boathouse fundraiser - with remaining funds being used to pay down our mortgage and add to our building maintenance funds which reduces the burden on the tenant teams to cover these expenses through higher rental and user fees.
All visiting teams and their coaches that are participating as part of an HVRL event held at the HRRA Boathouse or as a guest of a tenant team are subject to all fees and parking restrictions.
Parking pass is $15 for all regattas, one pass will be given to each tenant team for tents, coaches get one COACH parking pass for their use (not family members).
Helping with a parking at a regatta will earn you a parking pass.
There will be a $40 bus parking fee per regatta this year or a $100 season pass for all regattas.
