HRRA SCULLING
LEARN-TO-SCULL
Learn-to-Scull is an eight-session program designed to introduce sweep rowers to the skills and pleasures of rowing in small boats. Participants will learn boat and oar handling techniques in small-group sessions and will progress to a stable "trainer" or Peinert rowing shell as comfort level and skill increase.
PREREQUISITE: Completion of an eight-session Learn-to-Row or previous sweep rowing experience.

RECREATIONAL SCULLING
The Recreational Sculling Program is focused on skill building for scullers of all ages. Scullers who have graduated from Learn-to-Scull are encouraged to enroll in this program to further develop their skills. Recreational Sculling is HRRA’s finishing school for novice scullers who want more time to work up to competition.
PREREQUISITE: Completion of one or more Learn-to-Scull sessions or by permission of the coach.

Adult Scullers who are certified to row unsupervised in a double or single may schedule the use of club boats during open boathouse times. Please make arrangements with the HRRA Sculling Director.
Scullers who rent a rack for their privately owned single, but want to use club boats to practice in other boat formats with other rowers, should register for this program. A 15% discount will be applied to the fee.
PREREQUISITE: Scullers must be certified and approved by the HRRA Sculling Director before registering for program.

RACING AS A RECREATIONAL, UNSUPERVISED, OR INDEPENDENT SCULLER
Athletes who have experience and who want to start racing have the opportunity to race at any of the regattas HRRA attends for an additional fee.

All athletes must have a Basic USRowing Membership ($9.75) and an online waiver completed. If you have already paid the membership under a different club name you must log in to the USRowing portal and add Hudson River Rowing Association to your club affiliations by the first day of practice.
HRRA Program and race fees do not include uniform, hotel, traveling expenses, or USRowing membership (when applicable). Athletes are responsible for these additional expenses. HRRA does not
provide adult chaperones for unaccompanied minors.
