2013 JUNIOR SUMMER PROGRAMS
JUNIOR SWEEPS ~ REGISTER
Our composite summer program for rowers who have completed a novice season with HRRA or through their scholastic team. Athletes work on further developing technical skills, endurance and racing strategies with athletes from throughout the region.
DATES: June 26th to August 2nd
DAYS: M-F
TIMES: 6am to 8:30am

Junior Sweeps Coxie ~ REGISTER
Fee: $135
JUNIOR ADVANCED ~ REGISTER
Our Junior/Open Advanced program focuses on developing technical efficiency, speed and endurance to compete and regional and national regattas. Athletes enrolling on this team will commit to 3 away races per season and may be given an opportunity to compete at up to 6 races each season. Prerequisite for enrollment on this team is one full season beyond your novice season or by permission of the coach, 90% attendance requirement and completion of an erg test that will be administered the week of June 4th.

ERG TESTS: Wednesday, June 5th OR Thursday, June 6th (you need to attend one)
DATES: June 5 to August 2 (12th for athletes who attend Canadian Henley)
TIMES: June 5 to 23 - afternoons and mornings to be worked around school schedules
June 24 to August 4 - M-F, 6am to 8:30am (subject to change)
FEE: $550 (includes all race fees except Henley - an additional fee will be required for athletes who attend Henley)
PLEASE NOTE: There is an erg test requirement as part of the acceptance process and additional side land and erg training will be required.
Junior Advanced Coxie ~ REGISTER
Fee: $300 (includes race fees)
Our membership and program fees do not include uniform, hotel or traveling expenses or USRowing membership (when applicable). Athletes are responsible for these additional expenses.
Athletes who go to the Canadian Henley are required to have a passport or enhanced driver's license (the quickest and cheapest method for travel to Canada).

July 20 ~ Philly Youth Regatta
August 6 to 11 ~ Royal Canadian Henley, St. Catherines, Ontario
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENT
Each sweep team registrant is required to complete a minimum of 4 hours of service to the club each season you are enrolled or you will be assessed a $20 fee per hour not fulfilled. Please fill out this Volunteer Form to indicate how you would like to fulfill this requirement.
If you have completed any volunteer hours you may submit them online with the HRRA Service Hours Submission Form.
REGISTRATION
Registrations are accepted until the program is full for all programs, except for advanced which stops accepting registrants two weeks after the first day of practice. Registrations that are received after a program is full will be placed on a waiting list. If a spot opens up registrants will be given a spot based on receipt date of their registration. If a program is not filled to its minimum capacity it will be cancelled and registrants will receive full refunds.
All registrations are made through www.regattacentral.com. Fall teams can all be found under the programs tab ~ HRRA is listed alphabetically.
Registrants will be notified of their program status through email immediately after the online registration and in a follow up email within the week prior to the start of the program.

Our membership and program fees do not include uniform, hotel or traveling expenses or USRowing membership (when applicable). Athletes are responsible for these additional expenses.
FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
HRRA is committed to providing access to rowing for all junior athletes and we offer scholarship and fee reduction opportunities to families that need help paying for programs fees. Please contact us for a financial need application. On average HRRA awards over $1000 in rowing scholarships to rowers each year so they could participate!
