HRRA BOATHOUSE
The Hudson River Rowing Association owns and operates the seven bay HRRA Boathouse in Poughkeepsie, NY where all of the Dutchess County adult and scholastic rowing teams operate out of.
The HRRA Boathouse is a communal facility and tenants, as well as HRRA programs, lease space for their boats and support equipment. In addition, all teams using the facility pay seasonal user fees. All proceeds from this income are used towards the financing and operation of the boathouse. We do not currently have an endowment to help subsidize this effort.
The HRRA Boathouse is almost full ~ the majority of our rack space is reserved for eights and fours, though we have reconfigured our storage and all of the sculling operations at the club level will now operate out of Bay 6, which has 32 racks for singles and doubles. Both HRRA and our tenant, MHRA, lease sculling racks and operate all sculling activities out of this bay. HRRA and MHRA sublease a portion of their singles and doubles to their membership for storage of privately owned shells. HRRA passes the full expense ($300) of the singles/doubles racks to the private shell owner ~ private storage is not subsidized by HRRA's general membership.
The teams that operate out of our boathouse are:
- Arlington Rowing Association
- Hudson River Rowing Association
- Hyde Park Rowing Association
- Mid Hudson Rowing Association
- Lourdes Crew
- Poughkeepsie
- Rhinebeck
- Spackenkill Crew
- Wappinger Crew
